The China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) and the Federal Intellectual Property Office (Rospatent) jointly decided to extend the pilot project for PPH patent examination between China and Russia indefinitely from July 1, 2023. The requirements and procedures for participation in the project will continue to follow the Russia-China PPH Guidelines.

The PPH is a fast patent examination channel between different countries or regions, speeding up the patent examination process through work sharing between patent examining authorities. Since the launch of the first PPH pilot project in November 2011, SIPO has established PPH cooperation with 31 patent examining bodies in different countries or regions.

The extension of the China-Russia PPH pilot project will further promote exchanges and cooperation between China and Russia in the field of intellectual property, serve the innovative entities of the two countries to accelerate the patent examination process, and continue to promote in-depth cooperation between the two institutions in the field of patent examination.
